Q. Do you allow the use of FrontPage?

A. Yes, we support the FrontPage server extensions and the ability for you to publish and maintain your site using FrontPage. However, we do not recommend this method. It is a stopgap solution for beginners and small sites. Eventually you need a more professional site and at least use a more professional publishing method if not learn html yourself.

Q. Do you recommend the use of FrontPage to create web sites?

A. FP may be adequate for small sites and for beginners. We permit it, but neither have it ourselves, support it or recommend it. You should learn html and write your own site.

Q. My FrontPage site generates the error "Root Web Busy". How can I fix this?

A. Use the file manager in your control panel to remove the "service.lck" file in the folder /www/_vti_pvt. This is left behind when an FP session is interrupted before completion.

Q. Why does FrontPage start the Web Publishing Wizard when I try to publish?

A. Cancel the operation and reinstall the FP extensions. They have been damaged.

Q. Why is my FrontPage index renamed on the server when I publish?

A. The "Default Document" of your web site is automatically renamed by the server to what is required by the configuration of the server.
